As NMC adapts to a transforming healthcare system, we need to invest in the proper facilities to continue to deliver exceptional care. The all-private rooms of our new Progressive Care Unit have allowed for wonderful advances in privacy, restfulness, and healing for our patients. The new medical office building has brought Primary Care, Urgent Care, and Orthopaedics to the front of campus in flexible, efficient space. The medical clinics have allowed for the expansion of access to specialists and created a convenient new home for Obstetrics & Gynecology.

In partnership with Vermont Tech and Community College of Vermont, we are investing in a new building to expand a nursing program into downtown St. Albans. This new facility will also host a high-tech simulation lab for our clinical staff education and wellness space to infuse wellbeing into the core of our community. This will be a tremendous help with the challenge of recruiting nurses. Here on campus, we must modernize our Emergency Department to improve privacy, safety, and efficiency in the care of our patients. We are also looking to the future, with the potential of integrating various addiction-related services into one space on our campus and consolidating our two separate facilities in Georgia. These projects would improve the integration and efficiency of important services.

In a swiftly changing environment, staying the same is losing ground. Even as we work through financial challenges, we must continue to invest in the resources and space our staff needs to provide the exceptional care our community needs.
